BMW E39 is a modification of the body of the BMW “fifth” series, which was produced from 1995 to 2003 inclusive. The predecessor of this body was the BMW E34, and it was replaced by the BMW E60 (in 2003) and the BMW F10 (in 2010) in a completely new BMW style. The basic model in the family was the 520i. Its two-liter engine produced 150 hp, and after restyling the volume increased to 2.2 liters, and the power to 170 hp. The M5 version was released in 1998. It was powered by a V8 S62 engine, which was based on the M62B44. All modifications except the 535 and M5 were available in sedan and station wagon bodies. 535 and M5 were produced only as a sedan.
